These terms govern your use of the Silverback app. By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms.
What the app is
Silverback is a digital wellbeing tool that helps you notice short-video scrolling (doomscrolling) by counting it and showing an on-screen awareness overlay. It does not block apps or lock your phone. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.
License
You may use the app under a limited, non-transferable, revocable license for your personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute the app without permission.
Acceptable use
- Do not use the app for any unlawful purpose.
- Do not use battle and challenge features to harass others.
- Do not attempt to disrupt or breach the security of the service.
Counting and accuracy
Counting and the on-screen overlay rely on the accessibility service and platform behavior. We cannot guarantee that every short video is detected or counted 100% of the time. Silverback is an awareness tool, not a substitute for your own judgment.
Pro purchases and subscriptions
Silverback offers an optional monthly subscription, annual subscription, and one-time lifetime purchase through Google Play. The annual subscription includes a 3-day free trial for first-time subscribers. Prices and applicable taxes are shown by Google Play before you confirm a purchase; we do not hardcode prices here.
Monthly and annual subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel them in Google Play before the current billing period ends. You can manage or cancel them in your Google Play subscriptions. A lifetime purchase is a one-time payment and does not renew. Pro unlocks the Pro-only features shown in the current app, rather than any removed break or lock feature.
Brand and content
The “Silverback” name, logo, gorilla mascot, and app content belong to us and are protected by copyright and trademark.
Third parties
The app is distributed through Google Play and uses Google Play Services. Google’s applicable terms also apply.
Disclaimer and liability
The app is provided “as is.” To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages or losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app.
Termination
We may end your access if you violate these terms. You can uninstall the app at any time.
Changes
We may update these terms; the current date is shown on this page.
